Double award for Miller

Lee Miller has picked up the player and fans' player of the year awards following a fine debut season with Carlisle.

Miller, as he told the official website, was delighted with these awards and has been left flattered by them: 'it's a fantastic feeling to know the supporters have chosen you as their favourite player and it actually makes you feel really humble.

'I keep saying that the relationship you have with the fans is important, for a number of reasons, so for them to acknowledge you like that is the biggest pat on the back you can get.

'Then I picked up the players' award as well and you find yourself lost for words. These are the lads you train and work with every single day so it was really flattering to have them vote for me in the way they did.'

28-year-old Miller, who arrived on a free transfer from Middlesbrough last summer, scored an impressive 15-goals with his goals helping his side to the brink of a play-off spot. Had he not been sidelined for the final games of the season maybe they would not have fallen short?
