Carlisle close in on mystery duo

Greg Abbott has made no secret of his desire to bring in reinforcements this summer and has already spoken about 'talks' that he has held with a number of players.

Of these talks he is, as he told the official website, hopeful of having two of these confirmed in the coming weeks.

'Verbal agreements' have taken place but with holidays etc. he does not feel that Carlisle will unveil these players for a couple of weeks perhaps: 'I'm quite a way down the line in terms of getting players in and I'm certain we'll have a squad we'll be pleased with come the start of pre-season training.

'I'm speaking to two players again who we are very close to agreeing something with and that is very positive for us.

'Due to holidays and things like that we could find that we'll have to wait a few weeks before we announce anything, but there is verbal confirmation there at the moment that they have a level of interest in coming to the club.'

Does anyone have any idea who these mystery men could be, or what positions they think Carlisle most needs to strengthen in?
