Edwards signs for Carlisle

Carlisle's first signing of the summer has been completed with Mike Edwards joining the club.

32-year-old Edwards is someone that Greg Abbott, as he told the official website, thinks will make a 'great addition' to the squad: 'Mike comes with a vast amount of experience and we think we have got ourselves a great addition to the squad.

'He has strength and quality and we are really looking forward to working with him. He's exactly the type of player we wanted to bring in as we seek to go again next season and we're delighted that we've got him.'

The defender comes to Brunton Park having spent the past eight-years with Notts County.

Edwards has a wealth of experience behind him, having played over 500 games, so brings something to the Carlisle squad but how happy are you with his signing on a two-year contract?
