Aiming to earn a Carlisle deal
Pre-season is a time when a number of players, at a number of clubs, look to earn themselves a deal by undergoing a trial period.
Carlisle have officially confirmed that Harrison Blakey (Huddersfield), Alessio Bugno (Monza), Dale Hopson (Darlington), Jonathan Meades (Cardiff) and Aaran Taylor (Workington) are undergoing such trials in the hope of fixing themselves up with a new club.
The chances are few, if any, will actually do enough to earn contracts with Carlisle although Greg Abbott has absolutely nothing to lose by doing this and everything to gain, as previous seasons have shown with trialists that have come in.
