No deal for Taylor

Having spent a number of weeks with the club Aaran Taylor has failed to earn himself a contract with Carlisle.

Taylor has training with the club for the past three-weeks but with a couple of "very good keepers" already at the club it was decided that he wouldn't be offered a deal.

Keeper coach Tony Caig, as he told the official website, admits that the club will monitor his progress though: 'he's one we will be keeping a very close eye on as he has shown us some good things during the time he has spent with us.'

So one trialist has moved on but another, Ryan Donaldson, has arrived and the former Newcastle midfielder featured in the win on Tuesday.

If Taylor isn't going to dislodge either keeper currently on the books at Brunton Park then not offering him a deal is the right call as this can then be offered to another player, in a different position, more likely to make an immediate impact.
