Result: Carlisle 1-0 Accrington
It was a close fought thing but Carlisle just did enough to book a place in round two of the Capital One Cup.
League two outfit Accrington came to Brunton Park on Saturday afternoon but went into the half time break one-nil down when Matty Robson (39) scored just before the break.
Robson's goal proved enough to give Carlisle a narrow 1-0 win and earn a place in round two.

Many would have expected this to have been more comfortable but in a cup-tie anything is possible and just avoiding an upset was the priority for Carlisle and they did this.
A win sends the club into the league one kick-off next week with confidence and knowing that a place in round two is secured even more so.
