Carlisle look for rare cup upset against Ipswich
Carlisle v Ipswich
Carlisle will be looking to build on a weekend win over Portsmouth in the league with a morale boosting Capital One Cup win over Ipswich at Brunton Park tonight. History isn't with them though as they rarely cause upsets and have only once made the third round in almost 30-years!
A striker shortage is faced by Carlisle as Birmingham loanee Jake Jervis (ineligible) hasn't been given permission by his parent club to feature. Lee Miller (ankle) is going to be out for another month.
New Ipswich signing Guirane N'Daw isn't going to feature and Elliott Hewitt (hip) is out, but other than that Ipswich have no fresh injury concerns.
History will be made tonight whatever the outcome as this is the first ever league cup meeting between the sides, the last meeting at all came back in January 1979 when Ipswich were 3-2 victors at Portman Road in the FA Cup.
