O'Halloran departs

Michael O'Halloran's time at Carlisle has come to an end, ahead of schedule.

Having arrive a little under two-weeks ago the Bolton man quickly came off the bench to make a substitute appearance for Carlisle, but that proved to be his only involvement for the club during his loan spell...

After talking with Greg Abbott, as the Carlisle manager revealed on the official website, the 21-year-old has returned to Bolton: 'Michael came to see me and he told me that he felt that he wanted to get back down to Bolton to carry on his work down there.

'He wanted more in the way of pitch time with us and we couldn't guarantee him that at this moment in time.

'I spoke to Owen and he has been fantastic about the situation, so Michael leaves here with our very best wishes.'

Oh well, sometimes a loan move does not work out so if the Scottish U21 international felt his development was better served at his parent club so be it.
