'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Star man

Following a "man of the match" showing at the weekend Mark Gillespie came in for praise from both managers.

In only his third start for Carlisle Gillespie pulled off a string of fine saves to secure Carlisle a 2-2 draw at Brunton Park on Saturday.

A late save from Gary Roberts, his best of the afternoon, drew most praise from Swindon manager Paulo Di Canio: 'The Carlisle keeper made a fantastic save from Roberts at the end.'

Greg Abbott, seen as he is his manager, always knew what the keeper could do and it was thanks to his best that a draw was gained: 'We know what Mark Gillespie can do. He made some terrific saves and we needed him.'

More of the same from Gillespie in the games to follow, and more chances taken at the other end, and Carlisle will soon be back on the winning trail.
