Out to prove himself

Paddy Madden is still very hopeful that he'll have a long-term future at Carlisle despite being shipped out on loan recently.

The 22-year-old left Carlisle for a month-long spell with Yeovil recently and got his loan spell with the Somerset club off to a blinding start with a brace on his debut last weekend as The Glovers ended a six-game losing streak with a win.

Madden is looking forward to the games he will play at Huish Park and hopes this gives him the chance to prove himself worthy of more first-team action when he returns to Brunton Park.

His two goals equalled his tally, in 21 appearances, for The Cumbrians so far so if he can keep scoring, as would have been the hope anyway, this will benefit everyone and probably make it more likely that Greg Abbott will welcome him back into the fold at Carlisle.
