Carlisle managerial position clarified

Greg Abbott's position as manager of Carlisle isn't under review, despite views to the contrary expressed from a director earlier in the week.

Carlisle are on a poor run of form and this saw director Norman Steel reported as telling BBC Radio Cumbria that "Abbott's position would be reviewed as part of an ongoing process" in the new year.

Chairman Andrew Jenkins, as he told the official website, has clarified the position: 'As chairman and on behalf of the board of directors I can confirm that there have been no discussions at all about the manager's position and there have been no timeframes set in any way by any member of the board.

'The views expressed to Radio Cumbria on Tuesday night were not representative of the feeling of the board of directors and are not a reflection of our current stance.'

Perhaps the views are not "a reflection" of things but with just one win in seven, and with The Cumbrians just four points above the relegation zone improvement definitely is needed!
