Pressure eased after Carlisle win

Carlisle 3-0 Hartlepool
26th December 2012
15:00
Brunton Park

Carlisle recorded an emphatic, and vitally important, win over bottom of the table Hartlepool on Boxing Day.

Having come close, when an effort skimmed off the bar, Hartlepool found themselves behind when a Sam Collins (21) deflection meant an own goal lead for Carlisle. Minutes later it was two-nil when Matty Robson (27) scored, which came after an effort had been cleared off the line.

Struggling Hartlepool tried to get back into the game but it wasn't to be as their season of struggles continued with Lee Miller (73) rounding off a 3-0 win for The Cumbrians, and therefore easing the pressure on boss Greg Abbot.
