Carlisle Beaten By Cherries

Bournemouth 3-1 Carlisle
20th April 2013

Dean Court

Carlisle were beaten at highflying Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, with victory for the hosts securing their promotion to the Championship.

Shortly before the half hour Steve Cook's (25) header broke the deadlock for Bournemouth, that goal was enough to send them into the break one-up.

More evidence was seen as to why Greg Abbott is so keen to keep Lee Miller (50) as he acrobatically drew Carlisle level not long after the restart.

The scores did not stay level for long with Harry Arter (56) soon restoring The Cherries lead with a 3-1 win secured in injury-time when Brett Pitman (90+2) fired home to maintain his tremendous form for the club since his return from Bristol City.

Carlisle remain in midtable safety, whereas a club record eighth win on the spin for Bournemouth has seen promotion secured with them now on track to win the title.
