'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We've Got A List Of Players Ready

Greg Abbott, having committed his future to the club, is now waiting for players to do likewise!

Decisions from Lee Miller, Paul Thirlwell, Josh Todd, Danny Livesey and Matty Robson, all offered new deals by Carlisle, are being awaited and until these decisions are made any proposed moves for players are on hold.

Abbott, as he told BBC Radio Cumbria, admits that players are lined up but moves depend on players staying or going. He said: 'There are no signings imminent because I need to know what we're looking for.

'We've spoken to lots of players, but we're not imminent,' 49-year-old Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria.

'I can't do too much until I've got definite yes and nos, as it would be pointless hypothetically spending 200 a week on a player when I could spend 600 if one of our players doesn't re-sign.

'We've got a list of players ready, but we need definite outcomes.'

It's frustrating not knowing what players will do, it's all the more frustrating that players that Abbott might want to sign are missed out on due to the fact he has to continue to wait. That becomes even worse if players decide that they're going to move on anyway!
