Teenage Midfielder Pens Pro Deal

The progress that Jack Lynch has continued to make has seen the teenager rewarded with his first professional contract at Carlisle.

Lynch, who will turn 18 next month, has put pen to paper on a one-year contract.

Greg Abbott, as he told the official website, is excited by the progress of the midfielder and believes he'll have plenty to offer the club next season and in the seasons ahead.

He said: 'In Jack Lynch we've seen the type of midfield player that we possibly haven't had for a while.

'He is fantastic in the way he chases the opposition down and in the way he tries to make sure he wins his battles.

'He's extremely tenacious, he has an excellent range of passing and he is one who brings a really competitive edge to his game. That gives us quite a lot to work with.'

You'd expect that Lynch will be doing more than just "training with the first team" next season, as he had done frequently in the season just ended.
