Kavanagh To Go Cap In Hand

Kavanagh To Go Cap In Hand

In the wake of another Carlisle defeat, which continues the relegation form that's been shown recently. Graham Kavanagh is going to be going to the board to ask for some help.

He'll go "cap in hand" in the hope of being able to get some funds secured to bring in some players to make sure that a league one relegation battle isn't faced during the second half of the season.

Injuries have hamstrung the Cumbrians boss recently, and getting players fit is a definite requirement but bringing in some fresh blood could breathe new life into the club.

The boss told the News & Star: 'We are going to need some players fit, or some money in the market to improve.

'It's a problem and I'll be asking this week what we can do. We are going to have to try and improve.'

Even though Kavanagh will be away on Wednesday, for a Uefa Pro-License course, the players won't be getting "a breather" at all, with them set to be worked hard on the training pitch by his coaching staff.

The 4-2 defeat to Colchester leaves Carlisle just above the bottom three, and more worryingly just two points clear of the relegation zone.
