'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boss Appeals To The Supporters

Graham Kavanagh has appealed to the supporters to give Carlisle their fullest backing in tonight's league one relegation battle with Shrewsbury Town.

The Cumbrians boss concedes that he appreciates the frustrations that are being felt but knows that the support offered could make all the difference.

Performances must be given though and he wants this to start tonight.

Kavanagh told the News & Star: 'Of course I understand that, and they have been incredibly loyal to us in a very difficult season but I do know that the more they get on our backs, the more it will affect a group that is already fragile.

'I would just ask them to come, and I will be doing my absolute damnedest to make sure the players work, scrap and fight for every single ball.

'It is still in our hands if we win enough points. But we are running out of games and we know we have to start putting performances in and getting results.'

With the emergency transfer window closing this week Kavanagh could still make a move into the loan market once more with Gary Madine again been linked with a move to loan to Brunton Park.

Sheffield Wednesday have admitted that the striker will be sent out on loan but if it's to Carlisle remains to be seen....
