'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Four More Targeted

Carlisle boss Graham Kavanagh has revealed exactly what he's looking at in terms of player recruitment between now and the start of the 2014/15 season.

First and foremost he says that he's looking for another signing 'down the spine of the team', and once this one is made he will be happy, but them knows a patient approach will again be needed to bring in who he wants.

However with pre-season well underway he now knows that the ball starts shifting to the clubs court as free agents start to 'panic' because they are missing out of fitness due to missing pre-season.

Kavanagh told the official website: 'We're probably half way through where we want to be in terms of bringing new players in.

'Apart from one more signing, down the spine of the team, that will be mainly it. After that we'll have to be patient.

'Players are now going to start to panic, because they're missing out on pre-season, so we may get a chance to look at a few who weren`t really in our sights.'

The boss revealed how happy he was with the players that he has so far signed and does think that this summer has been an exiting period, but also feels that the next few weeks will be 'just as exciting'.

It's 'always difficult to get deals over the line' and Kavanagh also know that it can sometimes be difficult to attract players to Carlisle as a club so he isn't giving away too much but has revealed what areas he will be focusing on, most wouldn't be a surprise anyway.

He added: 'We need a couple of strikers, a wide man and we obviously need another goalkeeper.'

The coming weeks will tell if he's able to manage this, do you think he will?
