Grainger In Team Of The Week (26/9/17)

Grainger In Team Of The Week (26/9/17)

Carlisle United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Danny Grainger in the five nil victory over Crewe Alexandra at the weekend at Gresty Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Grainger was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Carlisle were awarded Saturday`s EFL Result of the Day, and Grainger was the star performer of their 5-0 rout of Crewe Alexandra. A fine long-range effort from the skipper put the Cumbrians on their way, and he added a penalty before setting up the third in their away day success.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Grainger for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joe Murphy (Bury), Danny Grainger (Carlisle United), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Oliver Lancashire (Swindon Town), Tony McMahon (Bradford City), Jodi Jones (Coventry City), Erhun Oztumer (Walsall), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Kieffer Moore (Rotherham United), Junior Morais (Peterborough United).

Manager - Chris Wilder (Sheffield United).
