Cambridge United 5-0 Cumbrians

Carlisle's dismal start to life in league 2 didn't get any easier on Saturday with a heavy defeat at Cambridge United.

Graham Kavanagh's hopes that Cambridge could get us up and running were miles from true with a 5-0 defeat suffered.

Issa Diallo (25) fired Cambridge into a one-nil lead with the second soon following as he set up Robbie Simpson (33) to make it two.

A third came on the stroke of half time when Simpson (45) converted a Tom Elliott cross to send the hosts into a three-nil half time lead.

Two-goals in four-minutes, in the final seven-minutes of the game from Cambridge debutant Jayden Stockley (83 & 87) rounded off a five-nil defeat.
