Cumbrians 4-4 AFC Wimbledon
If entertainment and drama is what you want then you wouldn't have left Brunton Park disappointed on Saturday, although Carlisle were denied a crucial win in injury-time.
Carlisle, who could have ended the day bottom of the football league had they lost and other results gone against them, were on course for a first league 2 win of the season on Saturday afternoon before a dramatic injury-time equaliser saw AFC Wimbledon go away with a point after a 4-4 draw of an eight-goal thriller.
One more Paul Thirlwell and Tony Caig took charge of the first-team but it was the same old same old for Carlisle with Sean Rigg (4) putting AFC Wimbledon ahead after only four-minutes.
We hit back quickly though Kyle Dempsey (13) though, but at the midway point of the half the visitors were ahead against as Matt Tubbs (22), who had been awarded the league 2 Player of the Month the day before, restored their lead.
Dempsey (45) though drew us level again in first half injury-time to see the sides go in level at two-two.
Josh Gillies (52) fired us into a three-two lead early in the second half and when Brad Potts (70) made it four-two with 20-minutes to play it looked as though the caretaker duo had that magic touch again!
With less than 10-minutes to go though, the game changed. Gary Dicker saw red for his handball and from the resulting penalty Tubbs (81) made us pay doubly.
We battled and looked like we might hang on for the win but in injury-time Adebayo Azeez (90) headed home to break hearts and see this thriller of a game end in a four-four draw.
