David Raven started his football career at Tranmere Rovers academy but once he left school he signed a contract with Liverpool FC. During his time at Liverpool he played a number of 1st team games but mainly in cup competitions.
Raven was an important feature of the Liverpool reserve team being made the captain in 2005. After an unsuccessful loan spell at Tranmere Rovers, David moved to Carlisle United on a free transfer. This was a great move for Raven as it gave him the chance to play regular 1st team football for a vastly improving site.
